Certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM) CPIM Program was started by APICS in 1973 to provide a common basis for individuals to access their knowledge of the evolving field of production and inventory management. Since then, APICS has administered more than half million tests in 40 countries. Today, CPIM is recognised around the world as a standard of professional competence in supply chain management (SCM). More than 55,000 people have earned the CPIM designation since then and thousands continue to pursue the certification each year. After
passing the Basics of Supply Chain Management module, the successful candidate
shall receive the Certificate in Basics of Supply Chain Management
(BSCM). Upon passing all five modules, the candidate shall be awarded the
CPIM. The professional designation can be put after the person's name.
